Do you ever wish you had more confidence in your abilities? Do you sometimes have negative thoughts, comparing yourself to others? Have you ever been afraid to speak up because you don’t think your opinion is valid? You are not alone, and there is a way to tackle your low self-esteem. Packed with tips, suggestions and quotes, this book will help give you the strength to turn negatives into positives and BECOME MORE CONFIDENT EVERY DAY. Believe In Yourself is a self-help book about self-esteem and confidence. It’s packed with highly motivating quotes, suggestions and tips on how to become more confident, especially turn negative thoughts into positive ones. This book is separated into eight parts, which is a helpful guide towards overcoming low self-esteem and becoming confident. “Believe in yourself… Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle.” Reading this made me aware that there are so many contributing factors as to why people have a low self-esteem and I feel like there’s a psychology behind why you feel that way.
Sometimes we are self-loath ourselves, think we’re going to fail, worry what other people think and being hard on yourself. But there are also many factors that can contribute to being more confident in yourself, such as writing down positive compliments someone has given you or your achievements. Surrounding yourself around good friends and it’s about quality, not quantity. Having 5 great friends is way better than having about 400 you don’t talk to on Facebook. Doing things that make you happy whether it’s reading or playing sports, but it’s also about taking time-out, eating well, having a healthy lifestyle, turning off social media and having a good sleeping pattern. “Without a ‘yes’ I cannot welcome opportunity. Without a ‘no’ I cannot stand up for my needs. With both, I can live a balanced life.”This is a little gem of a book! It’s my first self-help book and I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I didn’t want to put the book down. It spoke to me in such a good level and it was exactly what I needed to read because I read it during a time where I was feeling unhappy. I related to the part where it talked said, “A ‘no’ is as good as a ‘yes’ and I completely agree. Do say yes to new opportunities but don’t say yes to everything because you will find yourself in situations you don’t want to be in. It’s okay to say no and be assertive about it. I think it’s so important to be assertive because you’re standing up for yourself and allowing yourself to be able to express what you need. In my experience, if something doesn’t feel right, you just need to walk away. I’ve never been the kind of person who was confident at all because I was very shy and quiet growing up. I’ve had self-esteem issues about my body since I was 15 because I just hated being skinny. As I am a huge fan of highly motivational quotes because they are just so uplifting, relatable, inspiring and words of wisdom. So the quotes in this book was my highlight and these were some of my favourites: “Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear.” – Meg Cabot “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” – A. A Milne, Winnie The Pooh “Rejoicing in other people doesn’t mean bringing myself down. I am just as wonderful as everyone else.” Overall I have given this book a 5 star rating since I enjoyed it so much and found it very motivational. It’s a very quick read, I found myself flying through this book and by the time I realised, it already finished! If you’re looking for a self-help book about confidence, this is the perfect book for reading
