Book Review : Crime Zero by Khan Almas
Abeda Inamdar Senior College of Arts, Science and Commerce
“Crime Zero” by Michael Cordy Published by Bantam press 1999, is a thrilling story that
combines science, ethics, and crime. A place where crime is a big problem. A scientist, Dr. Luke
Decker, discovers a way to remove violent behavior from people’s genes, but raises questions
about Free will and Personal identity.
The narrative is plot driven filled with suspense. It explores complex themes such as Genetics
controlling behavior, Science being misused by powerful people. It has well-developed
characters, especially Decker, who struggles with his discovery’s consequences.
Even though the book is thought provoking and compelling, Some readers may find it has lot’s
of ethical dilemmas and other may focus on its deep genetic studies. The ending of the story is
too perfect for the complex issues of finding the criminal.
