“Vachan Sankalp Maharashtracha” is an initiative of the Ministry of Higher Education, Government of Maharashtra. Under this program, all colleges and universities in the state are directed to conduct various activities between 1 January 2025 and 15 January 2025 to promote and strengthen the culture of reading. One of the key activities encouraged for all institutions is reading at least one book and writing a book review.
Jayakar Knowledge Centre, Savitribai Phule Pune University, in collaboration with librarians from its affiliated colleges, has voluntarily undertaken the task of collecting these book reviews and making them available through this portal. All reviews will be accessible to the public 24/7, free of cost.
As reading and book-review writing are ongoing practices, this initiative launched during the government’s special drive is continue even after the official campaign period concluded.
