The story which runs through 261 pages has been divided into various chapters. In total there are 16 chapters. Before the story begins the prologue narrates the story in between. The beginning is slightly postponed and is filled in gradually through flashbacks and description of past events. There are no paragraphs which usually exist in literature and prose; and unlike any conventional novel, the author doesn’t waste time describing the scene and ambiance. The plot of the novel has been progressed through the dialogues between various characters in the novel as it happens in play. The book narrates a story of Rushabh Shah, a simple, average looking Gujarati guy who has not done anything extraordinary in life besides loving a girl with sincerity for 15 years.
The story is all about the confusions which happen with the protagonist, knowingly or unknowingly and how he manages to make them correct, only to be more confused again. He has been presented as in love with Mahek, a childhood friend and after a long struggle with confusion decides to propose and marry her.But afterwards, the entry of Dolly, another girl from Delhi, whom Rushabh meets accidentally in the flight to Bangkok, spices up the proceedings.
The further part of the novel presents how Rushabh becomes a sandwich between the loving forces from both the sides of Mahek and of Dolly at the same time. Rushabh’s innocent confession hurts Dolly so much that she becomes out of the control of her own feelings and senses and blames Rushabh strongly for playing with her feelings and hurting her for the sake of his own physical satisfaction and enjoyment.
Linguistically, the novel can be seen as pregnant with various features of Indian English. The novel has the elements such as teen crush, true love, family drama, physical attraction, fun, destiny, sex, heartbreak needed in a recipe of blockbuster story. Besides these, the novel is very unique yet very realistic which we all can relate tothe real life situations and that makes it a must read.
