The book “Rope” was written by ‘Patrick Hamilton’ in year 1929 . It was a |
| murdered crime story book which was a short book with full of suspense . I chosen the book ‘Rope’ because I mostly like books based on story and crime.There are mainly four characters in book which consists of two murderers ‘Wyndham Brandon’ and ‘Cherles Granillo’ and a victim ‘Ronald Kently’ and the former teacher named ‘Rupert Cadell’ the secondary characters includes Ronald Kently’s fiancé and his father. |

SUMMARY : Wyndham Brandon and Cherles Granillo were two wealthy and young men . They killed their friend Ronald Kently to show how they are intelligent then others and they have more informative ideas . They hide the body of Ronald Kently in the chest of their house (i.e. inside furniture of their house) . After the murder , theyhost the dinner party in their apartment and they invited Ronald kentley’s father , his fiancé and his former teacher in the party.

| Throughout the party , Wyndham Brandon remains calm and self satisfied meanwhile , Cherles Granillo feels anxious. As the party was in progress , Rupert (the teacher of Ronaly Kently) feels something abnormal in behavior of Cherles Granillo and starts to suspects about what’s the reality that was being hidden. The story ends with Rupert exposing the crime of Wyndham Brandon and Cherles Granillo and bringing the reality to his Ronald Kentley’s family members. |

STREANGTHS AND WEEKNESSES :

Suspense: the story seems short but was very suspensive as it was entertaining.
· Depth : Wyndham Brandon’s character was calm and satisfied but after thecrime , Granillo feels guilt , which was the key positive point of whole story.
· Unique idea : Hosting the party in the apartment in which they have hide the body of Ronald Kently and that too inviting his family members and his former teacher was twistful. WEEKNESS : · Character Roles : there are majorly four characters which appears thougout the story. I think that family members of Ronald Kently should have been appeared more in the story. · Pacen up style : story is short and it might be confusing and not understandable for some readers in first time. · Predictable : If reader is interested in story and crime books , it’s easy for him/her to guess what would be next move . that is why it could engage some readers while some will leave after reading few pages.
PERSONAL REFLECTION : In my vision , ‘ROPE’ is qa thriller story and there are many sub-parts in the story which kept me engaged thoughout the story , the most interesting part of the story for me was when Brandon and Granillo invited the family members of Ronaly Kently after they murdered him and hide his body to chest of the house . This shows how cool and calm are both murderers but at the end always wins the truth and honesty and loses the false side.My overall experience reading the book was awesome , I would really suggest one to read ‘ROPE’ who likes to read story books.
CONCLUSION : The book ROPE is quick, suspenseful and crime explorer. The reader can easily read it in one day if it is interesting for him/her. Its intense atmosphere and physiological thinking is bit enough to engage the reader. |
