You know the experience when you read Something so intriguing that it takes days for you to come out of the novel’s world we get so used to it’s charactors that we start thinking of them as friends. this was something i experienced while reading john green’s “the fault in our starts” this is my favourate novel from john green. i think he is one of the most exceptional author our world have, he is famous for potrying Coming of age stories in a realistic way possible. for ex. in paper town and looking for alaska the main Charachter is a confused teenage boy who get fonded over agirl which changes the perspective of his live, in fault in our star the same theme is followed. just roles are reversed, the novel is dedicated to all the cancer patient. the novel emphatisis on positivety and hope and how important it is to have it in your life. the novel point is life is unpredictible in one moment your alive the next moment could be your last. life is very small why not live it to the fullest. the novel opens with hazel in a programme for cancer patient where she meets augustus. they hit it off and strike bond they both had one thing in Common the love for reading hovel. Augustus had attended the program because of his friend issac who is
blind and has cancer in his eyes. upon reading hazel’s reccomended book augustus is mesmerized with how good
it is but also frustated as the now it had an abrupt ending. hazel is pleased to hear that. the novel was about girl
suffering from cancer and by the end of it she dies without finishing her last sentence. Hazel imagine herself in the
novel’s charachter as she is also afraid to die after a lot of research augustus finally found the email I’d of the author
of the novel, hazel is happy to hear that both send their questions regarding the novel to author. to which author
replies that he is ready answer all the question but face to face in amsterdorn where he lives . both got dissapointed
look in their face. augustus asks did you use your ‘make-awish opportunity? hazel replied with yes on disneyland augustus is disappointed.hazel gives up on the dream but the next day Augustas brings two tickets to amsterdom saying he had not used his wish yet till now. hazel gets emotionl and hugs him. Augustus also had a cancer his one leg is prosthetick. they both go and meet the author only to be surprised that he is not what they had imagined. he was mean and arrogant person he only insults both of them hazel argues with He author and leaves. hazel and augustus visitis anne frank house where they finally kiss. They both lose their Virginity on same night. they were happy hazel was glad that finally there is Someone in her life whom she could rely on. but this happiness could not last longer as augustas Cancer returns and he is admited to hospital. this is the part that made me the most emotional and vulnerable augustas and hazel had little time left in their hands now. augustas asks hazel for pre-funerel where he could hear her obituary as he cannot after his demise hazal takes him. to church and says obituary at the end she could not help but cry, why is god so cruels why he has to take the only good thing in my life? She says while hugging augustas who was in wheelchair they kissed again for a final time as after 2 days augustus dies, everyone is gathered on funeral hazel is also there she does not cry this time she looks at augustus one last time and went out of church. where she meets the author of the book who insulted both of them. he appoliges to her and give her a note Saying it is from augustus. hazel reads the note augustas had writtenbthat “getting hurt in this world is unavoidable, but we do get to choose whom we allow to hurt us, i am happy with my choice hope you are too!” hazel weeps reading the note, she states then that she is happy with her choice too and the novel ends. it’s very rare for a person to not cry by the end of this novel the novel also tells us that most of the time we create an image of a person and expect them to behave certain ways and then get disappointed when meeting them. reality is very different from imgination. the novel is adapted in two movies one in hollywood with Same name relased in 2014 and one from our india named ‘dil bechara’ which was also the last movie of Sushant Singh rajput. Both movies where critiqually and commercially successful. but still I put novel above them. as the imagination you create in your mind can never be topped. the novel is a prime example of how life should be about spending time with your loved ones. I have read many novels and I will continue to do So but the fault in our stars will always remained in my heart.
